Hello
Im a recent poster but have ridden Tbirds on and off for a few years. Currently running a 2010 1600 but will probably change this for a Commander/ LT early next year.
I'm planning a trip from UK to Malta...through Northern Spain, ferry to Rome then ferry to Sicily then over to Malta.
All looks fairly straightforward but if anyone's got any experience/ideas I'd be pleased to hear them.
I know Malta well so that's not a problem...thoughts on Staying near the ferry terminal in Rome and close to same in Palermo would be most welcome.
Cheers and hello to all Tbird riders
Al

Obviously not a brand new Commander/ LT....there's plenty of low mileage ones available which is my current choice.
I realise that this forum is populated mostly from our USA riders, but I'm hoping some of our European/ Brits will have done some of my route. Especially interested in hearing from anyone who's taken their bike on the Rome/ Palermo ferry.
Cheers
Al

Sounds like a most interesting ride. How long will you be enjoying yourself on such a trip?
Adventure at its best

It'll be a relatively short one...about two weeks...ferry UK to Northern Spain...ride across to Barcelona...ferry to Rome..couple of nights there then ferry to Sicily....ride to southern Sicily then ferry to Malta.

I have been to Poland once and that is the extent of Europe for me. Must say I would like to see more of it. On a bike would even be better. I not all that knowledgeable on that continent but would you be driving through the Alp's or is there a low land route. Do take and post some pictures so that I can be envious. Have the time of your life!

Thanks for your interest. No , we'll not be going over the Alps...to do the trip in the time my wife can get off work we'll use a mix of roads and ferries.
UK to Northern Spain...across there to Barcelona on the east coast then Ferry to Rome...ferry from Rome to Sicily then ferry from Sicily to Malta.
That's the plan so far...we won't be going till September next year...but I like to plan well in advance....prices are much cheaper that way
